Keystone Construction did not start as a marketing idea. It grew out of decades spent in the trades that make houses actually work.
Long before Keystone had a name, our crews were heating Long Island homes, running plumbing, pulling wire, and framing additions. Over the years those separate skills grew into successful HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical service businesses, and one pattern kept repeating: homeowners loved having a single company they could trust with a system, and dreaded the chaos of coordinating many companies for a big project.
Keystone Construction is the answer to that pattern. We combined 75+ years of combined experience across building and the mechanical trades into one design-build company, so a homeowner can hand us an idea and receive a finished project: designed, permitted, built, wired, plumbed, heated, and walked through, all under one roof.
Since then we have built dozens of custom homes and completed hundreds of additions, renovations, and outdoor projects across Suffolk and Nassau counties. Most of our work today comes from referrals, which is exactly how we want it.
The name is deliberate. A keystone is the wedge-shaped stone at the top of an arch: the one piece that locks every other piece in place. That is the role we play on a project. Architects, engineers, inspectors, suppliers, and trades all do their part, and Keystone is the piece that holds the whole arch together so nothing falls through.

What It Is Like to Build With Us
Every Keystone project, whether it is a powder room or a five-bedroom custom home, runs on the same habits.
It starts with listening. In your free consultation we ask about how you live, what frustrates you about your home, and what budget feels comfortable, before we talk about what to build. Plenty of clients have come to us asking for an addition and left with a smarter renovation plan that cost less, because the right answer to "we need more space" is not always more square footage.
Then we plan in the open. You see the scope, the schedule, and the numbers before work begins, and you approve them. We prepare the permit filings, coordinate engineering, and schedule the town inspections, so the project is legal, insured, and documented at every step. During construction, one project manager owns your job. They know where the tile is, when the electrician arrives, and what happens next week, and they share it with you without being asked.
And we finish completely. The last step of every Keystone project is a room-by-room walkthrough with you. Punch-list items get fixed, paperwork gets handed over, and you know exactly who to call, forever, because the company that built it is still right here on Route 25A.

Our office sits at 6304 NY-25A in Wading River, on the North Shore of Suffolk County. From there our crews serve homeowners across Long Island: Riverhead, Rocky Point, Shoreham, Miller Place, Mount Sinai, Port Jefferson, Stony Brook, Smithtown, Huntington, the North Fork, the Hamptons, and into Nassau County and Queens.
Building here is not like building anywhere else. Sandy soils, coastal wind, flood zones, and some of the most detailed town permitting processes in New York all shape how a project should be planned. A deck detail that works upstate fails inspection in Brookhaven; a foundation that suits clay soil is the wrong choice for a bluff lot in Wading River. We navigate those conditions every week, and it shows in how smoothly our projects run and how rarely our plans bounce back from the building department.
Being local also means being reachable. When a nor'easter takes shingles off your roof in January or a heating system quits the week your in-laws arrive, you are calling a company twenty minutes away, not a call center.
